Butler, Chief Carl G. 61, of Shadyside. Ohio died Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire, Ohio.

Carl was born December 22, 1953 in Marietta, Ohio a son of Hazel Bolen Butler and the late Carl Benjamin Butler.

He was retired Chief of Police from the Village of Shadyside, a member of the Ohio State Association of Police Chiefs and a Nazarene by faith.

Surviving is his wife Mary Ann Barsi Butler, his mother Hazel Butler of Adena, Ohio, his siblings, Brenda Wesley Wright, Brady Mary Jo Butler and Walter “Butch” Butler all of Englewood, FL, Bruce W. Donna Butler, and Rachel Butler both of Adena, Ohio, brothers-in-law, Pete Barsi of Wellsburg, WV and Anthony Elizabeth Barsi of Madison, Ohio many nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews, his beloved dogs, Missy and Macie.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio on May 30, 2015 from 1pm until time of a memorial service at 5pm with Reverend Wesley Wright officiating.

Final arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
