Joseph Velkovich, 62 of Bridgeport Ohio died Monday May 31st after fighting a courageous battle against cancer, at Wheeling Hospital. He was born May 13, 1953 a son of the late Joseph and Minnie De Genova Velkovich in Bellaire, Ohio. Joseph was owner of Route 40 Auto Sales and worked at several local dealerships in the valley. He also worked for Alpha Natural Resources as a dispatcher. He was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Johns Catholic Church of Bellaire, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Joy Green Velkovich whom he married December 31, 1980. He is also survived by a daughter, his “baby doll” Tiffany Lyn Velkovich who was the light of his life as well as two sisters Theresa Velkovich and Rose Smith both of Bridgeport, Ohio; his beloved grandson Landen Joseph Velkovich, two nieces Samantha Wojcik and Amy Sonk and two nephews A.J. Thompson and R.J. Smith. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 37th street Bellaire, Ohio 43906. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be held on Thursday June 4, 2015 at St John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio at 11 am with Fr. Daniel Heusel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.
