Ralph Brown

June 14, 1928 - April 25, 2015

Ralph A. Brown passed away April 25, 2015. Mr. Brown was born in June 14, 1928. A native of West Virginia, Ralph joined the Army in 1951. He served during the Korean War during his military tenure. In 1953, Mr. Brown married the love of his life Lolas. While still residing in West Virginia, the Browns began a business of their own. In 1957, they moved to Richmond, Virginia and once there, Ralph worked for The Greater Richmond Transit Company. He was a faithful employee for 37 years. In 1959 Ralph and Lolas welcomed a baby girl that they named Claudette. The Brown Family became active members of Westover Baptist Church where Ralph served as a Deacon and several church committees. After his retirement from GRTC, Lolas and Ralph moved to Virginia Beach to Atlantic Shores Retirement Community to be closer to Claudette and her family, who had moved there in 1988. After moving to the Tidewater area, the Browns became members of St. John’s Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. His golden years were filled with laughter, jokes and being known as “The Prankster”. We will cherish the memories that he’s left us with forever. As he always instructed David, we will “Never Give Up.”
A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at Westover Baptist Church, 1000 Westover Hills Blvd. Richmond, VA. The service will begin on Thursday April 30, 2015 at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior to the start of service time. Interment will take place at Dale Memorial Park 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd. Chesterfield, VA.
