Cecilia A. McElwee, 95, formerly of Moundsville, died Thursday June 7, 2001 in Good Sheperd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV.

She was born January 6, 1906 in Ohio County, WV, daughter of the late Fred G. and Clara Ann Hellstern Robrecht. She was a retired public health nurse with the state of West Virginia. She was a member of the American Nurses Assoc. and also the WV Nurses Assoc. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and Sisters of St. Joseph Auxiliary Foundation.

She was preced in death by her husband, James A. McElwee; a son, James R. McElwee; two sisters and five brothers.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane White and her husband Leonard of Jacobsburg, OH; a sister, Clara M. Rabb of Elm Grove; a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Evans McElwee of Moundsville, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Friend recieved Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Albert Driesch, T.O.R., as celebrant. Interment in Seven Dolors Cemetery, Triadelphia. Vigil services Sunday evening at 7 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville, WV 26041; or the Sisters of St. Joseph Foundation, Pogue Run Rd., Wheeling, WV 26003.
