Charles W. Ney, 79 of 4421 Highland Avenue Shadyside, Ohio, died Monday February 21, 2005, at his home.
He was born December 28, 1925 in Piney Fork, Ohio a son of the late Simon F. and Anna Chambers Ney.
Charles was a retired maintenance foreman at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Yorkville Plant, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shadyside, Ohio, a 1943 graduate of St. John Central High School, and attended Steubenville College; an avid member of St. John’s Booster Club, a fan of Notre Dame football, and was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Joanne McNamara Ney, two sons, John F. Pam Ney of Shadyside, Ohio; and Charles C. Jennifer Ney of Camel, Indiana; three daughters, Catherine Ney Albert Russell of Shadyside, Ohio, Christine Ney Floyd Trouten of Strongsville, Ohio and Carol Ney Bill LeMasters of Shadyside, Ohio; three sisters, Loraine Carroll of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Mary Elizabeth Jim Krutko of Gahanna, Ohio and Joan Noel of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; sister-in-law Beverly Ney of St. Clairsville, Ohio, 17 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday 12 noon to 8 PM at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio.
Vigil services 2:15 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass on Thursday at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Shadyside, Ohio with Father Frank C. Cronin as celebrant.
Interment in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Central High School, Bellaire, Ohio or Valley Hospice.
