EDGEL, Elizabeth “Betty”Sarah Gallaway 73, of Richland Avenue, Wheeling, died Monday April 4, 2005 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.Elizabeth was born May 2, 1931 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William and Myrtle Marie Van Dyne Gallaway. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling and was a former Nurses Aide at Wheeling Hospital. In addition, she was a Catholic by faith and was a member of the Christian Mothers at the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wheeling.

Elizabeth was born May 2, 1931 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William and Myrtle Marie Van Dyne Gallaway. In addition, she was a Catholic by faith and was a member of the Christian Mothers at the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wheeling.In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Edgel in 2004; four brothers, Thomas, Bernard, William and Charles Gallaway; four sisters, Ruth and Margaret Gallaway, M. Marie Kreitzer and Eleanor Abe, Elizabeth’s twin sister.

Edgel and his wife Tyra of Beallsville, Ohio; grandchildren, George Widener and his wife Kathryn of Salem, N.J., Kateri Widener of Pennsauken, N.J., Jackie Sanflippo of Lindenwold, N.J.,Catelyn and Kendra Edgel of Beallsville, Ohio, Daniel and Matthew Turner of Wheeling, and Shayne and Elizabeth McConnell of Shorewood, Ill; two sisters-in-law, Margene Gallaway and Mary Lou Cope.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Sanflippo and her husband Ronald of Deptford, N.J., Rita Turner and her husband Jeff of Wheeling and Laura McConnell and her husband Steve of Shorewood, Ill; a son, David W. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10am Friday, April 8, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Most Reverend Bernard W. Schmitt, Bishop Emeritus, as celebrant.. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Oglebay Foundation, c/o Oglebay Park, Wheeling, W.Va.
