TYRAS, Ellen M. Stock 90, of Valley Grove, WV, died Monday, April 5, 2004 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
Ellen was born January 31, 1914 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Anton and Margaret Harris Stock.
She was retired from Sears Roebuck and Co., was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a former member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Rosary Altar Society.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Tyras: two brothers, John and Walter Stock and a great-grandson.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Tyras and his wife Norma of Valley Grove and Virgil Tyras of Arizona; a daughter, Mary Kidder of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren an several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm Tuesday evening.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. James Lacrosse as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
