McCombs, Evelyn H. Gainer, 86, formerly of Moundsville, died Friday, June 4, 2004 in the Lexington Health Care Center, Lake Zurich, IL. She was born August 19, 1917 in Richwood, WV a daughter of the late Doyle and Monnie Burrell Gainer. Evelyn was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Vance Gainer and her friend Frank Rice. Surviving are a son George G. Hill and his wife Jo Ann of Palatine, IL; a daughter, Cleo Mier and her husband John of Canby, MN; two brothers, Marvin Gainer and his wife, Frances of Parkersburg, WV and Paul W. Gainer of Summerville, SC; a sister, Melva Jean Mullis and her husband C. Vance of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. There will be no visitation or service. Interment at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville. Arrangements by the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel.
