Fern C. Neider, 88, of Wheeling, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, in the BIshop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling.
She was born in Wheeling on September 24, 1912, a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Purcell Neider. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church; a retired employee of the Altmeyer Funeral Home, and also worked at the former Wheeling Tile Company.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Neider; three sisters, Marie Trischler, Norma Knuth and Grace Myles.
Surviving are two nieces, Irene and Marlene Trischler, with whom she resided; and several other nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, where Vigil services will be held on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. James Sobus as celebrant. Internment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, 1 Medical Park, Wheeling, WV 26003.
