Age 73

Fredrick E. ”Fred” Wagner 73 of Cricket Lane, Calcutta, Ohio died Sunday, March 4, 2001 at East Liverpool City Hospital in the emergency room, following a brief illness.

He was born in Industry, Pa. on April 30, 1927 and was the son of the late Henry O. and Marie Belle Moore Wagner.

Living most of his life in the area, he retired in 1982 from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pa. where he worked as a millwright for 36 years. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines, former member of the Glenmoor American Legion and the Elks Lodge. He also enjoyed working on cars, playing solitaire and going to the family cabin in Tionesta, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Virden Wagner at home; two sons, Edward A. Wagner of Calcutta and Kenneth L. Wagner of Elkton; three daughters, Mrs. Dave Linda Wolski of Lisbon, Ohio, Karen Wagner of Calcutta, Ohio and Deborah Wagner-Myers of Glenmoor; three brothers, William ”Will” Wagner of Nags Head, North Carolina, Robert Wagner of Calcutta, Ohio and Raymond Wagner of East Liverpool, Ohio; one sister, Alice Giralico of Negley, Ohio; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, March 8, 2001 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Charles

Parry officating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home in Calcutta on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
