Howard H. "Bud" Flora
Harold H. "Bud" Flora, 83, of Anderson Blvd., in the Dixonville area of East Liverpool, OH, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Calcutta Health Care after a lengthy illness. He was born in East Liverpool, OH on December 29, 1921 to the late Clarence & Edith N. McCormick Flora.
Mr. Flora was a lifelong area resident working at Hall China as a welder until his retirement in 1983. He served in the US Army during World War II and became a Prisoner of War. He was awarded the EAME Theater Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart with 2 Oak Clusters. Mr. Flora was a member of the American Legion Post 374, the VFW Post 66 and the John W. Covert Chapter 47 of the DAV.
He is survived by two sisters: Dorothy Jane Flora with whom he resided and Evelyn Walker of East Liverpool, OH as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, four brothers precede him in death: Morland C., John C, James, and Robert Flora as well as four sisters: Virginia Matthews, Margaret "Peg", Vera Mae and Corina Flora.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at11:00 AM with Evangelist Will Montgomery of St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, January 31, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM
