John J. "Yash" Pempek, 84, of Fairpoint, Ohio, died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Valley Hospice Center of Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born June 3, 1920 at Provident, Ohio, a son of the late John and Anna Grifta Pempek.
Yash was a retired coal miner for Bannock Coal Company and a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise in August of 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Gary and his wife Darlene and John Allen Pempek of Fairpoint, a daughter, Lynn A Jeffries of St. Clairsville, four grandchildren, Cory and Jaime Jeffries and Tiffany and Jenna Pempek, and four brothers and sisters.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory , of St. Clairsville, was in charge of the arrangements.
