HARDMAN, Mary T. Carney, 85, of Wheeling, W. Va., died Saturday January 1, 2005, in the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling.
She was born in Wheeling on May 16, 1919, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Tuttle Carney.
Mary was a member of Christian Mothers, a member of the Ladies Guild and a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, where she was an avid worker for the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hardman, three brothers: James, Thomas and Eugene Carney.
Mary is survived by three sons: Charles Hardman of Wheeling, David Hardman Tammy of Freeport, Bahamas, Thomas Hardman Leslie of Columbus, Ohio; five daughters: Mary Hardman of Wheeling, Roseann Hardman-Buchser Rick of Calif., Susan Hardman Michael of Valley Grove, W.Va., Joan Hardman Pete of SC., Judy Hardman of Calif.; a sister-in-law Doris Carney; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, W.Va.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday January 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, with the Rev. Larry Dorsch as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
