Maryann Theresa Vitiello Fonner, 80, of Benwood, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at her home.
Maryann was born January 15, 1935 in Benwood, a daughter of the late Anna Theresa Apera Vitiello. She was a retired cook for Young’s Cafeteria, Glen Dale, W.Va., and a member of St. John Catholic Church, Benwood.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by William C. Fonner and Gaylord Vitiello.
She is survived by her two children, Sheree Kreuger of Benwood and Gary Fonner and his wife, Denny of McMechen; two sisters, Rosie Tweedlie and her husband, Joe and Sarah Appenzeller, all of Benwood; a brother, Joe Vitiello and his wife, Janet of Shadyside, Ohio; grandchildren, Dan Wilson and his wife, Chanda, Bill Wilson, Mike Kreuger, Adam Turner and his wife, Jodie, Andrea Turner and Aaron Fonner; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, friends.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where a vigil service will be held at 6 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, May 23, 2015, at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, with the Rev. Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
