Papadopoulos, Michael Z., 78, of Wheeling, WV, died Dec. 10, 2003 in Heartland Nursing Home, Lansing, Ohio. Michael was born in Wheeling, Sept.19, 1925, the son of Polycarpos and Olga Haralambou Papadopoulos. He was a member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, Wheeling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Zaharia and Harry Papadopoulos. Surviving are two sisters: Thelma Wise and her husband, Benjamin, of Panama City, FL and Doris Papadopoulos of Wheeling; a brother, George Harris of St. Petersburg, FL; four nieces: Stephanie Betsarakis and Cynthia Rutan, both of St. Petersburg, Daphne Kott of Alexandria, VA, and Teddie Wise of Jackson, MS; three Nephews: George Daniel Harris of Lee’s Summit, MO, Benjamin Z. Wise of Jackson, MS, and Paul M. Harris of Pittsburgh, PA; and four great-nephews. Friends will be received at the McCoy-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 44 – 15th St, Wheeling fron 2-4 and 6-8 Friday. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10am Saturday at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Spiro Kehayes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling. Trisagion services will be held at 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 2215 Chapline St, Wheeling.
