Paul Marks, 86 of Virginia Beach, Va. passed away on Tuesday, Oct 26, 2004 in his residence. He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Paul was shot down August 1943 while on a bombing raid in Italy during World War II.
He successfully escaped two times while captured. He spent almost two years as a POW
in Germany. May, 1945 he was liberated and was given several military awards for his
He was a former Mason at the Bay Shore New York Lodge and a former member of Elizabeth Manor Golf Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jewell Marks and Grandson Jonathan S. Marks.
He is survived by his two sons, The Honorable Ronald H. Marks and wife Linda,
and Craig A. Marks and wife Susan, all of Virginia Beach, three grandchildren,
Jeff Marks and wife Debbie, Ryan Marks, Heather Marks and Great Grand-daughter
Memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, 10/30/04 at 3:00 p.m. in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Kempsville Rescue Squad or American Cancer Society.
I truly was so pleased with the wonderful service provided. They were alloutstanding, very kind.
