Robert E. Blair 90 of East Richland St.Clairsville died Saturday May 9, 2012 at Forest Hill Nursing Home.
He was born January 30, 1925 at Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Ruel and Esther Steinman Blair.
Robert was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburg Steel Martins Ferry and Consol Coal Company Egypt Valley.
He was a WWII US Army Veteran, attended East Richland Friends Church, and was a member of VFW Post 5356,
Bob enjoyed stock car racing and built stock cars and loved football.
In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by four sisters, Carol Paglialunga, Evelyn Pickenpaugh, Catherine Paludniak and Marcia Patterson.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years Rose Dalpiaz Blair, his son Robert A. Barbara Blair, St.Clairsville, and two daughters Joni Frank Scarnechia, Wheeling, WV and Linda Bob Traylinek, Canfield, OH, two granddaughters Ashley and Samantha Scarnechia, Wheeling, 8 brothers William Marie Blair, St.Clairsville, Raymond Betty Blair, Davenport, FL, Ralph Rita Blair, Wilmington, NC, John Blair, St.Clairsville, Gene Rose Marie Blair Tolland, CT, Jim Blair, Stockbridge, GA, Ben Anne Blair, St.Clairsville, and Donald Charlotte Blair, St.Clairsville, 3 sisters Judith Walter Dombroski, Adena, OH, Edna Coward, Cedar Hill, TX and Annette Yale Budovsky, Las Vegas, NV.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory 204 W. Main St. St.Clairsville where funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery St.Clairsville with Military Rites provided by Belmont County Veteran’s Association.
