Ronald M. Waite, Sr.
Age: 73

Ronald M. Waite, Sr., 73 of Dyke Road, Rogers, OH passed peacefully at his residence on Friday, February 25, 2005 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Shadyside, OH on August 27, 1931, a son of the late Ralph & Margaret Mae Kautz Waite, Sr.

Living most of his life in this area, he worked for over 30 years as a crane operator at the former Crucible Steel in Midland, PA. He was a member of the Wellsville Ruritans, the VFW Post 6450 in Chester, WV and the American Legion Post 70 in Wellsville, OH. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Deem Waite, whom he married on September 19, 1952; six children: Paula Locke and her companion, Danny Polen of Rogers, OH, Randy Waite and his wife, Deborah of New Manchester, WV, Terri Shinton of Alliance, OH, Vicki Waite of Massillon, OH, Ron Waite, Jr and his wife Debra of Salem, OH and Jim Luke of Rogers, OH. There are seven grandchildren: Ben Locke and his wife, Stacey, George Locke and his wife, Tina, Ron Locke and his wife, Sonya, Brian Waite and his wife, Stacey, Lori Waite, Bill Shinton and his wife, Lori and Veronica Waite as well as eight great grandchildren: Andrew, Madison, Mackenzie, Tori, George Scooter, Chelsia and Kaleb Locke and Brooklyn Waite. There are also two brothers: Russell Waite of East Palestine, OH and Randy Waite of Miami, FL as well as a sister in law: Esther Waite of Steubenville, OH.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandchild: Randall Waite and seven brothers: Ralph, Jr., Robert, Richard, Roger, Paul, Raymond and Roy Waite.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 10:30 AM with retired minister, Rev. Vernon Morse officiating.

Entombment will be at the convenience of the family in the mausoleum in United Presbyterian Cemetery in Calcutta.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, February 28, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

Family and friends will gather at the East Liverpool Chapel and Hospitality Center of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 145 West 5th Street following the services for food and fellowship.
