Roy D. Fulcher VIRGINIA BEACH – Roy D. Fulcher, 86, passed away Feb. 1, 2011. Roy was born in North Carolina to the late Albin and Alice Fulcher. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 59 years, Emma; daughter, Alice Sykes; son, Roy Fulcher Jr.; three grandchildren, Gene Sykes, Wendy Bagley and Carrie Ray; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ross, Walton, Charles, Albin and Dalton. Roy proudly served and retired as a master sergeant after 22 years in the United States Army. He devotedly served in three wars: World War II, Vietnam and Korea. Roy was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He had many hobbies and interests, such as crabbing, bowling, and playing golf. A visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, today, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. in Salem United Methodist Church, 2057 Salem Road, Virginia Beach, with a reception to follow. The graveside service will be held Saturday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Quidley Family Cemetery in Buxton, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to Salem UMC.
