Terry Culver

July 31, 1947 - December 17, 2004

Virginia Beach-Terry Jay Culver, 57, passed away December 17, 2004. He was born in Dodge City, Kansas to Eldon and Wanda Culver, where he went on to join the US Navy in August of 1966 and retired in October 1986. During his service he was a Plank Holder on the Dwight D. Eisenhower and also served in Vietnam. He married Sharon in November 1966. Terry enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and working in the yard. He also cherished spending time with his grandchildren. His career continued at Atlantic Dominion Distributor for 13 years, until his health could not permit. He was also a member of many organizations including the American Legion Post 0368 for the past four years, The Red Nights, Southside and Harley Davidson Motorcycle Organization.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Rena and his father Eldon Culver.

Mr. Culver is survived by his wife Sharon of 38 years; two daughters, Michele Funchion and husband Philip of Morenci, MI., Wendy Barakey and husband Michael, of Virginia Beach. Four grandchildren, Victoria and Bradley Funchion, Lauren and Lucas Barakey. Mother, Wanda Culver of Dodge City, Kansas; brother, Montie Culver and wife Jane of Dodge City, Kansas; sister, Dee Buller and husband Milton also of Dodge City. Sister in-law, Patsy Peterson of Plainfield, IL., Linda Thomas and Husband James of Newton, Kansas, Connie Bowen and Husband Phil of Peabody, Kansas. Brother in-law, Steven Weiser and wife Yvonne of Canon City, CO., David Weiser and wife Tammy of Dodge City, Kansas. Terry is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He will be missed and cherished by many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. M. Lee and staff along with hospice of Norfolk and Father Jim Parke.

A memorial service will be held at Church Of The Ascension on Tuesday, December 21, at 1:00 p.m. by Father Jim Parke with a Friendship Gathering starting at 12:00 p.m. Please visit this memorial at www.altmeyer.com
