Thurman Hedrick

February 12, 1951 - June 20, 2004

Hedrick, Thurman Melvin, 53 of 1006 Betty Zane Road, Wheeling, formerly of
Ellamore, Randolph Co, WV, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 in Wheeling
Hospital.
He was born February 12, 1951 in Harmon, WV, a son of the late Edith Hedrick
of Dry Fork, WV.
He was a former employee of Valley Camp Coal Co. #1 Mine, Short Creek, and
was presently employed by the Ohio County Commission at the Ohio County
Courthouse as maintenance supervisor.
He was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Windsor Heights Church of
God.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his foster parents,
Frank and Edith Shreve of Ellamore, WV.
Surviving are his wife, Dessie Mae Williams Hedrick, two daughters, Sandra
Dell Hedrick at home and Sonya Gale Olako and her husband Tom of Warwood,
WV; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Colton Olako of Warwood; four brothers,
Otis Bill Pennington of Seneca Rocks, WV; Richard Burley Pennington of
Belington, WV; Roger Hedrick of Valley Bend, WV; Wayne Hedrick of Jane Lew,
WV; a sister, Anna Ruth Hedrick, several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home,
1400 Eoff St., Wheeling. Friends then received from 10:00 am until time of
the service at 11:00 am Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Windsor Heights
Church of God with the Rev. Harry F. Pettini officiating. Interment in
Short Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
