To Kathy's family I first met Kathy when she was in high school and she was my Bible school teacher at the Bellaire Christian Church. I was 9 at the time. I met her several times after that, one of them was when she was running for sheriff. I told her she would make a great sheriff. I was happy when she won the election. She was really dedicated protecting us citizens of Belmont County. She was truely a great lady. I will always remember her great wit and her love for others.

To the Family and Friends of Kathy, I was saddened to learn of Kathy's passing, but relieved that she is no longer suffering and is finally home with Our Lord. As I was growing up, she was always so kind to me, and I loved hearing her stories she told about being Sherriff and all her other adventures. I always looked up to her and was secretly so proud that my cousin had accomplshed all that she did. She set a wonderful example as a female role model, and I still carry her toughness and perserverance with me today. I have lost a beloved cousin and Belmont County has lost a legacy. Rest in peace, Sweet Kathy.

To The Family of Kathy Crumbley I had the pleasure of talking with Kathy many times over the years and remember when she was going to start with the Belmont County Jobs and Family Services. We spoke about the new career she was embarking on and I knew from her conversation that she would do a wonderful job. Kathy provided great service in that arena and many others to the people of Belmont County. She not only was refreshing, but a very interesting person that combined humor and great life stories when she spoke. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. God Bless Bob Ney

Dearest Betty, Andy and all of Kathy's family: She was a special buddy of mine throughout high school and I will always remember staying at her parents home when we were growing up. It was always so much fun with the Nameth family and there was never a dull moment. Kathy will never be forgotten by our Class of '1964. She was and always had been a leader that we all looked up to...on the basketball court and in the classroom and all the joint activities we shared. While she shared her life with us, she lived it to the fullest and made achievements that none of us will forget. Kathy made us all proud to know her and love her. Hers was a life certainly well lived but sadly we must release her soul to a kinder, much gentler world. She had a heart that was true gold and for her friends and family, she would sacrifice everything. Classmates and Friends, Steve and MaryJo Zacchini Kurko Belleview Heights,Bellaire

I had the chance to showcase Kathy on my "Everybody has a Story" segment on WTRF about 9 years ago. She made me feel right at home and her story....especially vintage footage of her on the Tonight Show.....made it an outstanding piece and one of my personal favorites. We have truly lost a piece of history with her passing.

Josh Your mom hired me for my first job after I graduated college in 1979 as a deputy sheriff. Although I was unable to continue in that position as my career, the way she acted ultimately led me to become a proecutor after I graduated law school. I've been a prosecutor here in Kanawha County just short of 20 years with 5 more at the State and try to do my level best at my best level as she taught me. I was lucky enough to be able to contact her on a few cases in my career here and it was always a joy to hear her remember me as "one of her boys." Kathy is truely and sincerely missed.
